イシパタナで、仏陀がそこで初めて四聖諦を説いたことを想起し、比丘たちに舎利弗と大目犍連に従うよう勧める経。その後舎利弗が四諦の詳細な解説をするために説法を引き継ぎ、後に『大念処経』に組み込まれた。

A discourse at Isipatana in which the Buddha recalls first teaching the Four Noble Truths there and exhorts the monks to follow Sāriputta and Mahā-Moggallāna, after which Sāriputta takes up the discourse to give a detailed exposition of the Truths — later incorporated into the Mahāsatipaṭṭhāna Sutta.
