ဣသိပတန၌ ဗုဒ္ဓါသည် ထိုနေရာ၌ အရိယသစ္စာလေးပါးကို ပထမဆုံး ဟောကြားခဲ့ကြောင်း သတိရပြီး ရဟန်းများအား သာရိပုတြာနှင့် မဟာမောဂ္ဂလာန်ကို လိုက်နာကျင့်သုံးရန် တိုက်တွန်းသည့် သုတ်တစ်ပုဒ်ဖြစ်သည်။ ထို့နောက် သာရိပုတြာက သစ္စာလေးပါးကို အသေးစိတ် ဖော်ပြရန် ဆက်လက်ဟောကြားခဲ့ရာ၊ နောင်တွင် မဟာသတိပဋ္ဌာန်သုတ်တွင် ပါဝင်လာသည်။

A discourse at Isipatana in which the Buddha recalls first teaching the Four Noble Truths there and exhorts the monks to follow Sāriputta and Mahā-Moggallāna, after which Sāriputta takes up the discourse to give a detailed exposition of the Truths — later incorporated into the Mahāsatipaṭṭhāna Sutta.
