一經講述遊方沙門郁伽訶摩那主張真正的勝利沙門只需身語意不作惡、以正當方式謀生即可，佛陀卻指出照此定義連一個毫無能力的嬰兒也可稱為沙門，進而說明真正的成就標誌在於圓滿修習八正道並具足究竟的智慧與解脫。

A discourse in which the wanderer Uggāhamāna claims that a truly triumphant recluse is simply one who commits no evil in deed, speech, or thought and earns a living blamelessly, a definition the Buddha dismisses by noting it would make even a helpless infant a recluse, before describing genuine attainment as mastery of the Noble Eightfold Path together with full knowledge and deliverance.
