A discourse in which Ānanda, visiting the wanderer Sandaka near Kosambī, expounds four false teachings that deny the value of ethical conduct or claim liberation is inevitable regardless of effort, then describes the Buddha’s own path through the four absorptions, leading Sandaka and his followers to accept the Buddha as teacher.
