พระภิกษุชาวศรีลังกาผู้มีชื่อเสียง ผู้แต่งอรรถกถาภาษาสิงหลหลายเล่มตามพระราชประสงค์ นำการปฏิรูปวินัยสงฆ์ จัดคณะทูตไปยังประเทศไทยเพื่อฟื้นฟูการอุปสมบทระดับสูง และในที่สุดได้รับการสถาปนาเป็นสังฆราชแห่งศรีลังกา

An eminent Sri Lankan monk who composed several Singhalese commentaries at royal request, led reforms of monastic discipline, arranged an embassy to Thailand to restore higher ordination, and was ultimately invested as Saṅgharāja of Sri Lanka.
