유폐된 바라나시 왕이었던 보디사따가 자신을 무너뜨린 적에게 깊은 자비를 닦은 나머지 그 적의 몸이 극심한 고통에 시달리게 되어, 보디사따가 그를 풀어주고 왕국을 돌려준 자타카.

A Jātaka in which the Bodhisatta, as an imprisoned king of Bārāṇasī, develops such compassion for the enemy who overthrew him that the enemy’s body suffers great pain, leading the Bodhisatta to free him and restore his kingdom.

왕실 제관의 아들인 보디사따가 히말라야에서 고행자가 되고, 어릴 적 벗인 왕이 대신 세이야를 보내 제관으로 다시 불러들이려 해도 그 영예를 거절하는 자타카.

A Jātaka in which the Bodhisatta, son of a royal chaplain, becomes an ascetic in the Himālayas and, though his boyhood friend the king sends the minister Seyya to fetch him back as chaplain, refuses the honour.
