Campā හි ධනවත් හා උගත් බ්‍රාහ්මණයෙකි; මිතුරන්ගේ විරෝධය නොතකා බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ වෙත ගොස්, ඔහුගේ නමින්ම නම් කරන ලද සූත්‍රයේදී ධර්ම දේශනාව අගය කළද, තම ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨත්වයට ගරු කරමින් අර්ධ වශයෙන් පමණක් හැරී සිටියේය.

A wealthy and learned brahmin of Campā who, despite his friends’ objections, visited the Buddha and, in the discourse that bears his name, expressed appreciation for his teaching while maintaining only partial conversion out of deference to his own seniority.
