  • The son of a caravan leader of Kāsi who, at fifteen, entered the Order under Dāsaka Thera after fasting until his parents relented, became an Arahant leading a thousand monks, and later ordained Siggava and Caṇḍavajjī after they observed his silent meditative trance.
