The son of a very poor woman of Sāvatthi, born in a cemetery after his mother died in childbirth and raised by a watchman; he met the Buddha at age seven and, given loving-kindness as his meditation subject, soon attained Arahantship.

එම අන්වර්ථ නාමයෙන්ම හැඳින්වූ තවත් දරුවෙක්, ඔහුගේ මාමා ඔහුව සොහොන් බිමක මළ සිරුරකට බැඳ අම්බෙයියන්ට කෑමට දුන්නේය; බුදුරජාණන්ගේ බලයෙන් ඔහුගේ බැම්ම ලිහී ඔහුට බුද්ධත්වයට (ප්‍රබෝධයට) මග පෑදිණි, පසුව ශෝකයෙන් සිටි ඔහුගේ මව ද සෝවාන් ඵලයට පත් විය.

A child, also known by the same nickname, whose uncle bound him to a corpse in a charnel field to be devoured by jackals; the Buddha’s power broke his bonds and brought him to enlightenment, after which his grieving mother also became a Stream-winner.
