  • 舍卫城一位极贫穷妇人之子,母亲难产而死,他生于墓地,由守墓人抚养长大;七岁时遇见佛陀,修习慈心观后不久便证得阿罗汉果。

  • The son of a very poor woman of Sāvatthi, born in a cemetery after his mother died in childbirth and raised by a watchman; he met the Buddha at age seven and, given loving-kindness as his meditation subject, soon attained Arahantship.
