舍卫城一位极贫穷妇人之子，母亲难产而死，他生于墓地，由守墓人抚养长大；七岁时遇见佛陀，修习慈心观后不久便证得阿罗汉果。

The son of a very poor woman of Sāvatthi, born in a cemetery after his mother died in childbirth and raised by a watchman; he met the Buddha at age seven and, given loving-kindness as his meditation subject, soon attained Arahantship.

另一位同样得此别名的孩童，叔父曾将他绑在尸体上弃于坟场以喂野狗，佛陀以神力解开绳索并助他证悟，其寻子而来的母亲也因此证得须陀洹果。

A child, also known by the same nickname, whose uncle bound him to a corpse in a charnel field to be devoured by jackals; the Buddha’s power broke his bonds and brought him to enlightenment, after which his grieving mother also became a Stream-winner.
