舍衛城一位極貧窮婦人之子，母親難產而死，他生於墓地，由守墓人撫養長大；七歲時遇見佛陀，修習慈心觀後不久便證得阿羅漢果。

The son of a very poor woman of Sāvatthi, born in a cemetery after his mother died in childbirth and raised by a watchman; he met the Buddha at age seven and, given loving-kindness as his meditation subject, soon attained Arahantship.

另一位同樣得此別名的孩童，叔父曾將他綁在屍體上棄於墳場以喂野狗，佛陀以神力解開繩索並助他證悟，其尋子而來的母親也因此證得須陀洹果。

A child, also known by the same nickname, whose uncle bound him to a corpse in a charnel field to be devoured by jackals; the Buddha’s power broke his bonds and brought him to enlightenment, after which his grieving mother also became a Stream-winner.
