  • 舍衛城一位極貧窮婦人之子,母親難產而死,他生於墓地,由守墓人撫養長大;七歲時遇見佛陀,修習慈心觀後不久便證得阿羅漢果。

  • The son of a very poor woman of Sāvatthi, born in a cemetery after his mother died in childbirth and raised by a watchman; he met the Buddha at age seven and, given loving-kindness as his meditation subject, soon attained Arahantship.
