  • ソーレイヤ・レーヴァタが住み、マハーカッチャーヤナも一時期そこに滞在した、隊商路沿いの古い町で、過去の世代の仏陀たちもここを訪れ説法したと伝えられる。

  • An ancient town on a caravan route where Soreyya-Revata and, for a time, Mahā-Kaccāyana lived, and which earlier Buddhas of past ages are said to have visited and taught in.

  • 長老マハーカッチャーヤナの美しい体を見て不適切な願望を抱いたため即座に女性に変わり、ある富豪の妻として結婚し子をもうけたが、最終的にその長老によって男性に戻され、その後出家して阿羅漢果を得た、ソーレイヤの富豪の息子。

  • A millionaire’s son of Soreyya who, after an inappropriate wish upon seeing the elder Mahā-Kaccāyana’s beautiful body, was instantly transformed into a woman, married and bore children as the wife of a treasurer, and was eventually restored to manhood by the elder before entering the Order and attaining Arahantship.
