පසේනදි රජුගේ සොහොයුරිය බුදුන්ගෙන් අසන්නේ, ශ්‍රද්ධාවෙන් හා ශීලයෙන් සමාන වුවත් උදාර හා මසුරු ශ්‍රාවකයන් දෙදෙනකුගේ ප්‍රතිඵලයේ වෙනසක් තිබේදැයි ය; බුදුන් පැහැදිලි කරන්නේ දෙදෙනාම රහත් බව ලබන තෙක් දාතාව ආයුෂ, රූපශ්‍රී, සතුට, ගෞරවය හා බලය යන සියල්ලෙන් අනිකා අභිබවා යන බවයි.

A discourse in which Pasenadi’s sister asks the Buddha whether a generous and a stingy disciple, otherwise equal in faith and virtue, differ in their outcomes, and he explains that the giver surpasses the other in life span, beauty, happiness, honour and power until both attain Arahantship.
