พระสูตรที่พระขนิษฐาของพระเจ้าปเสนทิทูลถามพระพุทธเจ้าว่า สาวกผู้เอื้อเฟื้อกับผู้ตระหนี่ ซึ่งมีศรัทธาและศีลเสมอกัน จะมีผลต่างกันหรือไม่ พระองค์ทรงอธิบายว่าผู้ให้ทานย่อมเหนือกว่าในเรื่องอายุ ผิวพรรณ ความสุข เกียรติยศ และอำนาจ จนกว่าทั้งสองจะบรรลุอรหัตตผล
