A birth-story about a crow king whose lieutenant, sent to steal royal food for the pregnant queen of crows, is captured and pleads to sacrifice his life for his king, moving the human king to protect all creatures thereafter, told in reference to Sāriputta obtaining a special meal for Rāhula’s mother.
