三蔵の三区分の一つで、ディーガ・ニカーヤ、マッジマ・ニカーヤ、サンユッタ・ニカーヤ、アングッタラ・ニカーヤ、クッダカ・ニカーヤの五部からなる。最初の四部は性質上密接に関連しており、複数の部に同じ経が現れることもある。
