  • 맛지마데사 서쪽 끝의 바라문 마을. 적대적인 마을 사람들은 방문한 부처님께 물과 환대를 거부하려 했으나, 물을 드린 노예 여인이 처형되었음에도 도리천에 태어났고, 부처님의 신통력으로 마을 우물이 넘쳐흘러 마을 사람들이 결국 굴복했다.

  • A brahmin village on the western edge of Majjhimadesa whose hostile inhabitants tried to deny the visiting Buddha water and hospitality, until a slave woman who offered him a drink, though killed for it, was reborn in Tāvatiṃsa, and the Buddha’s power caused the village wells to overflow until the people relented.
