バーラーナシー（Bārāṇasī）の王として生まれた菩薩で、自ら作った金像に似た女性を娶り、帝釈天として転生した後、彼の死後に彼女が王妃となった際に彼女を試し教え導いた。

The Bodhisatta born as king of Bārāṇasī, who married a woman resembling a golden image he had made, and who, reborn as Sakka, later tested and instructed her when she became queen after his death.
