Upāhana Jātaka
Jātaka師と同額の報酬を主張する象使いの弟子についての本生譚で、師が前夜密かに象に命令に逆らうよう仕込んでおいた不正な技比べで負けた後、石打ちにされて死ぬという話であり、提婆達多の卑しい忘恩について説かれた。
A birth story about an elephant trainer’s pupil who insists on equal pay to his teacher and is stoned to death after failing a rigged skill contest the night before which his teacher secretly trained an elephant to disobey commands, told concerning Devadatta’s base ingratitude.
