佛陀因憍賞彌比丘爭執一事，前往 Pācīnavaṃsadāya 教誡其堂弟阿那律、Nandiya 與 Kimbila 如何排除障礙修習禪定，部分偈頌亦見於《法句經》。

A discourse taught to the cousins Anuruddha, Nandiya, and Kimbila at Pācīnavaṃsadāya during the Kosambī monks’ quarrel, in which the Buddha instructs them on developing meditation free of obstacles; some verses are shared with the Dhammapada.

以黃金因雜質不能發亮為喻，說明貪慾、嗔恚、昏沉睡眠、掉悔、疑五種煩惱令心不堪調柔、無法滅盡諸漏。

A discourse comparing the impurities that prevent gold from shining to the five corruptions — sensual desire, ill-will, sloth and torpor, restlessness, and doubt — that keep the mind unmalleable and unfit for ending the taints.

以雲、霧、煙塵與日月食遮蔽日月光輝為喻，說明飲酒、行淫、蓄財、邪命四事損減沙門修士的清淨聖德。

A discourse comparing the clouds, mist, smoke, and eclipse that dim the sun and moon to the intoxicants, sexual relations, money, and wrong livelihood that diminish the holiness of ascetics.

重申黃金雜質之喻，並補充說明心一旦淨除五種煩惱即變得調柔堪能，可證得神通等勝智乃至滅盡諸漏。

A discourse restating the gold-impurity teaching and adding that a mind purified of the five corruptions becomes malleable enough to attain higher knowledge, psychic powers, and the destruction of the taints.
