Upasāḷaka Jātaka
JātakaA Jātaka about a brahmin who instructs his son to cremate him only at a spot untouched by outcasts, and who, while searching for such a place with his son, encounters a holy ascetic who reveals that this very spot has already seen his cremation fourteen thousand times before, using the revelation to teach the path beyond death, told by the Buddha to a forest-dwelling novice.
