一则本生故事，讲一位婆罗门嘱咐儿子须将他火化于未被贱民玷污之地，父子二人寻觅途中遇见一位圣洁的苦行者，苦行者揭示这同一处地点其实早已是他一万四千次火化之地，借此教导超越生死之道，此故事是佛陀讲给一位林居沙弥的。

A Jātaka about a brahmin who instructs his son to cremate him only at a spot untouched by outcasts, and who, while searching for such a place with his son, encounters a holy ascetic who reveals that this very spot has already seen his cremation fourteen thousand times before, using the revelation to teach the path beyond death, told by the Buddha to a forest-dwelling novice.
