ウッタラ・マドゥラー王マハーサーガラの息子で、兄サーガラの副王として後宮の陰謀を疑われて逃亡し、ウパカンサのもとに身を寄せ、デーヴァガッバーに恋をして結婚し、彼女との間に悪名高いアンダカヴェンフ兄弟をもうけた。

Son of Mahāsāgara, king of Uttara-Madhurā, who as his brother Sāgara’s viceroy fled after being suspected of a harem intrigue, took refuge with Upakaṃsa, fell in love with and married Devagabbhā, and fathered with her the notorious Andhakaveṇhu brothers.
