北摩偷罗国王摩诃萨伽罗之子，身为其兄萨伽罗的副王，因涉嫌与后宫有染而出逃，投奔优波刚萨后爱上提婆伽婆并娶她为妻，育有著名的安达迦韦讫奴众兄弟。

Son of Mahāsāgara, king of Uttara-Madhurā, who as his brother Sāgara’s viceroy fled after being suspected of a harem intrigue, took refuge with Upakaṃsa, fell in love with and married Devagabbhā, and fathered with her the notorious Andhakaveṇhu brothers.
