北摩偷羅國王摩訶薩伽羅之子，身為其兄薩伽羅的副王，因涉嫌與後宮有染而出逃，投奔優波剛薩後愛上提婆伽婆並娶她為妻，育有著名的安達迦韋訖奴眾兄弟。

Son of Mahāsāgara, king of Uttara-Madhurā, who as his brother Sāgara’s viceroy fled after being suspected of a harem intrigue, took refuge with Upakaṃsa, fell in love with and married Devagabbhā, and fathered with her the notorious Andhakaveṇhu brothers.
