보살이 고행자로서, 겁에 질린 나가와 그를 뒤쫓는 가루다에게 자애를 가르쳐 화해시키는 자타카로, 훗날 부처님이 화해시킨 다투기 좋아하는 두 병사와 관련하여 설해졌다

A Jātaka in which the Bodhisatta, as an ascetic, reconciles a terrified nāga and a pursuing garuḷa by teaching them loving-kindness, told in reference to two quarrelsome soldiers later reconciled by the Buddha.

죽음의 필연성을 오랫동안 관하여 온 보살의 바라문 가족이, 아들이 뱀에 물려 죽었을 때도 슬픔을 보이지 않은 자타카로, 이 평온함에 크게 감동한 삭까가 그들에게 보물을 하사했다

A Jātaka in which the Bodhisatta’s brahmin family, having long contemplated the inevitability of death, show no grief when a son dies of snakebite, their equanimity so impressing Sakka that he rewards them with treasure.
