උරුවෙලාවේ වාසය කළ තෙභාතික-ජටිල තපස්වී සොහොයුරන් තිදෙනාගෙන් වැඩිමහල් වූ අතර, ශිෂ්‍යයන් පන්සියයක් ගිද ගත්තේය. බුදුන් වහන්සේ ඔහුගේ ගිනි වන්දනා නාගයා යටපත් කර ප්‍රාතිහාර්ය රැසක් පෙන්වූ පසු බුදුන් වහන්සේගේ ධර්මයට හැරුණේය.

The eldest of the three Tebhātika-Jaṭilā ascetic brothers living at Uruvelā, who led five hundred disciples and was converted to the Buddha’s teaching after the Buddha overcame his fire-worshipping serpent and performed numerous miracles.
