A monk of Sri Lanka, pupil of Sāriputta Thera, credited with numerous grammatical commentaries and possibly the Pāḷi Thūpavaṃsa and several Sinhalese works.

비자야바후 3세 치하에서 승가의 수장을 지내며 부처님의 발우와 불치사리를 안전하게 숨겼고 후에 왕이 승단을 개혁하는 것을 도운 인물로, 아마도 바찟사라(2)와 동일 인물.

Probably identical with Vācissara (2), head of the Saṅgha under Vijayabāhu III, who hid the Buddha’s Almsbowl and Tooth Relic for safekeeping and later assisted the king in reforming the Order.
