A Sinhalese monk, probably of the twelfth century, who wrote commentaries to several of Buddhadatta’s works and was also the author of the Rūpārūpavibhāga and Sīmālaṅkārasaṅgaha.

A monk of Sri Lanka, pupil of Sāriputta Thera, credited with numerous grammatical commentaries and possibly the Pāḷi Thūpavaṃsa and several Sinhalese works.

තෙවන විජයබාහු රජු යටතේ සංඝයාගේ ප්‍රධානියා ලෙස, බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගේ පාත්‍රය හා දළදා වහන්සේ ආරක්ෂිතව සඟවා, පසුව සංඝය ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණය කිරීමට රජුට උදව් කළ, බොහෝ විට වාචිස්සර (2) ට සමාන පුද්ගලයෙකි.

Probably identical with Vācissara (2), head of the Saṅgha under Vijayabāhu III, who hid the Buddha’s Almsbowl and Tooth Relic for safekeeping and later assisted the king in reforming the Order.
