왕의 애마를 절망적으로 사랑한 암탕나귀가, 그가 마침내 그녀를 찾아왔을 때 자존심 때문에 그를 거절하고 훗날 이루지 못한 그리움으로 죽었다는 자타카로, 사왓티(Sāvatthī)의 지주에게 설해졌다. 그의 연인도 단 한 번의 방문에서 그의 구애를 거절하고 같은 슬픔으로 죽었다.

A Jātaka about a king’s prized horse desperately loved by a she-ass, who nevertheless rebuffs him out of pride when he finally visits her and later dies of unfulfilled longing, told to a landowner of Sāvatthi whose own beloved rejected his advances on his one visit and then died of the same grief.
