A younger brother of King Vijayabāhu I who served as vice-regent over Dakkhiṇadesa, married Subhaddā, and helped the king reconquer Pulatthipura after a rebellion.

The surname adopted by the prince Mānābharaṇa when he became governor of Dakkhiṇadesa, later the father of King Parakkamabāhu I.
