現代のベンガルと同定されるヴァンガー人の国で、カリンガ王と結婚しシーハバーフとシーハシーヴァリーの祖母となったヴァンガー姫の母国であり、『ミリンダ王問経』では海路で到達できる貿易港として記されている。
