A wandering ascetic who became a monk and attained Arahantship, remembered for his many recorded discussions with the Buddha probing metaphysical questions such as the eternity of the world and the fate of the Tathāgata after death.

A wandering ascetic who met the Buddha at Venāgapura, asked why the Buddha’s complexion looked so radiant as though he slept on a luxurious bed, and declared himself a follower after hearing the reply, possibly the same person as another wanderer of this name.
