A discourse recording the wanderer Vacchagotta’s question to the Buddha, and separately to Mahā-Moggallāna, as to why the Buddha will not affirm or deny the world’s eternity, receiving identical answers from both and marvelling at their agreement.

Проповедь, в которой Ваччхаготта спрашивает, отговаривает ли Будда от подаяния другим сектам, и Будда отвечает, что любой дар любому существу приносит заслугу, хотя дары добродетельным плодотворнее даров злым.

A discourse in which Vacchagotta asks whether the Buddha discourages giving alms to other sects, and the Buddha replies that any gift to any creature bears merit, though gifts to the virtuous are more fruitful than gifts to the wicked.
