Vajjiputta
Person都会の騒がしい祭りに嫌気がさし、森の暮らしを軽んじたとして森の精霊に詩で叱責され、その教訓を胸に刻んで観察を修めて阿羅漢果を得た、ヴェーサーリーの僧侶。
A monk of Vesāli who, disgruntled at a noisy city festival, was rebuked in verse by a woodland spirit for spurning forest life and, taking the lesson to heart, developed insight and attained Arahantship.

Person自らも阿羅漢果を得た後、ブッダの入滅後にある詩偈を発し、それがまだ有学であったアーナンダを自らの阿羅漢果へと後押しする助けとなった、リッチャヴィ王族出身の僧侶。
A monk of a Licchavi princely family who, after attaining Arahantship himself, uttered a verse following the Buddha’s death that helped spur Ānanda, still a learner, on to his own attainment of Arahantship.
