Fils d’un riche brahmane de Rājagaha qui rejoignit l’Ordre après avoir été témoin de la visite du Bouddha à Bimbisāra, atteignit bientôt l’état d’arahant, et préféra la vie solitaire de la forêt même quand des parents l’exhortaient à vivre à proximité

Son of a wealthy brahmin of Rājagaha who joined the Order after witnessing the Buddha’s visit to Bimbisāra, soon attained Arahantship, and preferred the solitary life of the forest even when kinsmen urged him to live nearby.
