พระสูตรที่เรียกอีกชื่อว่าอัคคิกภารทวาชสูตร ตรัสหลังจากพราหมณ์ผู้หนึ่งด่าว่าพระพุทธเจ้าเป็นคนวรรณะต่ำขณะทรงบิณฑบาต โดยพระพุทธเจ้าทรงอธิบายว่าการกระทำต่างหาก มิใช่กำเนิด ที่ทำให้บุคคลเป็นคนวรรณะต่ำหรือพราหมณ์แท้

A discourse, also called the Aggikabhāradvāja Sutta, given after a brahmin reviles the Buddha as an outcaste while he sought alms, in which the Buddha explains that it is one’s deeds, not one’s birth, that make a person an outcaste or a true brahmin.
