本生故事，講波羅奈王梵與不顧其師戒其莫行嚴酷之誡，聽從祭司之言弄瞎一千名被俘君王，自己後來也遭致雙目失明、痛苦而死；此事對應菩提王子弄瞎宮殿建築師之舉。

A birth story of a king of Bārāṇasī who ignored his teacher’s warning against harshness, blinded a thousand captive kings on his chaplain’s advice, and died in agony after being blinded himself, told regarding a prince’s blinding of his palace architect.
