カーマンダー（Kāmaṇḍā）のバラモン一族の女性で尊敬される師であったが、当初は仏教の教えを軽んじていた。しかし後に比丘ウダーイー（Udāyī）の前で謙虚になり、幸不幸の原因についての質問に彼が答えた後、自らを彼の信奉者と宣言した。

A brahmin clanswoman and respected teacher of Kāmaṇḍā who at first slighted the Buddhist teaching, but who later humbled herself before the monk Udāyī and declared herself his follower after he answered her question on the cause of weal and woe.
