고행자가 된 일곱 형제가 오락 때문에 수행을 게을리하다가, 앵무새 모습을 한 제석천이 찾아와 그들이 진정한 고행자가 아니라 그저 찌꺼기나 먹는 자들이라고 부드럽게 꾸짖는 자타카로, 마찬가지로 태만한 비구 무리와 관련해 설해졌다.

A birth story about seven brothers turned ascetics who neglect their practice for amusement, until Sakka, taking the form of a parrot, visits and gently rebukes them for being mere refuse-eaters rather than true ascetics, told in reference to a group of similarly negligent monks.
