Aṭṭhana Jātaka
Jātaka女性の信用ならなさに関する本生話で、遊女に日々贈り物をしていた若い商人が、金を持たずに来た唯一の日に手ぶらで追い返されたことで嫌気がさし出家して苦行者となった話で、女性が原因で還俗を考える比丘になぞらえられる。
On the untrustworthiness and treacherousness of women. A young merchant, Mahādhana, patronised a courtesan, giving her a thousand pieces daily. One day, having no time to fetch the money, he went empty-handed and was cast out. Thereupon, in disgust, he became an ascetic (J.iii.474 ff).
The story is related to a monk who wished to leave the Order on account of a woman.
