Ayya-Uttiya (°ika)

칼야니의 티사 왕의 아우로, 왕비의 정부가 되었다가 발각되자 수도에서 도망쳐 후에 그의 이름을 딴 지역에 살았으며, 승려로 변장한 남자를 통해 왕비에게 편지를 보냈으나 그 계략도 발각되었다.

Brother of Tissa, king of Kalyāṇī. He was the queen’s lover and, being discovered, fled from the capital and lived in a district which was later named after him. He sent a letter to the queen by a man disguised as a monk, but the ruse was discovered (Mhv.xxii.13 ff; MT.307). For the rest of the story see Kalyāṇi-Tissa.
