He was a native of Coḷa, but studied in Sri Lanka under Ānanda vanaratana. He was the head of Bālādicca-vihāra and wrote two books, the Rūpasiddhi and the Pajjamadhu. He is also known as Coḷiya Dīpaṅkara. P.L.C.220 f; Svd.1239, 1260; SadS.65.
