Dubbalakaṭṭha Jātaka
JātakaChuyện Bổn sanh về một con voi bị bắt ở Himavā rồi trốn thoát khỏi những người huấn luyện, sống trong nỗi kinh hoàng triền miên cho đến khi vị Bồ Tát, khi ấy là thần cây, xua tan nỗi sợ của nó, được kể liên hệ đến một tỳ-kheo luôn sợ chết, được đồng nhất với con voi.
Once an elephant, caught in the Himavā, while being trained by the king’s trainers, broke away from his chains and escaped to the mountains. There he lived in a constant state of terror until the Bodhisatta, who was a tree-sprite, dispelled his fears.
The story was told in reference to a monk who was always in fear of death. He is identified with the elephant. J.i.414-6.
