Jhānasodhana Jātaka
Jātakaएक तपस्वी, बोधिसत्त्व, की जातक कथा, जिनके अंतिम शब्द ‘न संज्ञा है न असंज्ञा’ का सही अर्थ उनके प्रमुख शिष्य ने लगाया, परंतु अन्य शिष्यों ने विश्वास नहीं किया, जब तक बोधिसत्त्व स्वयं ब्रह्मलोक से उतरकर उस व्याख्या की पुष्टि नहीं कर देते — यह कथा संकस्स में सारिपुत्त द्वारा दी गई एक व्याख्या के संदर्भ में सुनाई जाती है।
The Bodhisatta was once an ascetic who, at the moment of his death, said “neither conscious nor unconscious.” His chief disciple interpreted these words, but the others would not believe him until the Bodhisatta descended from the Brahma-world in order to uphold his explanation.
The story was related in reference to an explanation given by Sāriputta at Saṅkassa (J.i.473).
This Jātaka is probably also called the Anaṅgana Jātaka (q.v.)
