Kuddāla-paṇḍita

過去に有名だった六人の師の一人で、敬虔で聖なる生活によって知られ、多くの弟子を惹きつけ、死後は梵天界に転生した。智慧波羅蜜を完成させた彼の物語は『クッダーラ本生』に語られている。

He is mentioned in a list of six famous teachers of the past, who were well-known for their pious and holy lives. They had numerous followers and, after death, were born in the Brahma-world (A.iii.371, 373; iv.135).
The Kuddāla-birth was one in which the perfection of wisdom (paññā) was developed (J.i.46).
