Person한 재가 여신도가 마치 친아들처럼 헌신적으로 돌봐주던 장로로, 그녀가 자신을 돌보지 않게 될까 두려워 그녀가 부처님을 뵈러 가는 것을 만류하고 심지어 설법조차 막으려 했다.
An elder. A certain woman ministered to him as though he were her son, but when she expressed her desire to see the Buddha, Kāḷa tried to dissuade her from doing so. One day she visited the Buddha without telling Kāḷa of her intention, and when he learnt where she had gone he hurried to the Buddha and tried to prevent him from teaching her, in case she should stop caring for him.
