Nagaraka

Place

Also known as Nangaraka

メダルンパ近郊のサキヤ族の町で、パセーナディ王が仏陀に最後の訪問をした場所であり、仏陀自身もかつて滞在して主に空性のうちに住することを語った場所

v.l. Nangaraka.– A Sakyan township near Medatḷumpa. From there Pasenadi, accompanied by Dīgha-Kārāyana, paid his last visit to the Buddha, as recorded in the Dhammacetiya Sutta. M.ii.118.

The Buddha evidently once stayed in Nagaraka, for in the Cūḷasuññatā Sutta, Ānanda is reported as reminding the Buddha that once, while staying at Nagaraka, the Buddha had remarked that he lived “with the void a great deal.”
