좌초되어 버려진 채 햇빛과 비에 삭아가는 원양선을, 팔정도를 닦는 비구 안에서 점차 소멸해가는 결박에 비유하는 경.

If a sea-going vessel is left stranded on the bank, it is dried up by the wind and sun in the dry season and rotted by water in the rains — so are the fetters in the case of a monk who cultivates the Noble Eightfold Path. S.v.51.
