The Buddha addresses the monks in the Migadāya at Isipatana and tells them how he had first taught the Four Noble Truths there. He exhorts them to follow Sāriputta and Mahā-Moggallāna, and then retires to his cell.

Sāriputta takes up the discourse and gives a detailed explanation of the Truths. M.iii.248-52.

This sutta is incorporated in the concluding portion of the Mahāsatipaṭṭhāna Sutta.
